Getting Started with Frontier Quote

Frontier Quote is a Shopify app that replaces checkout buttons with "Get a Quote" flows for shoppers from selected regions. This is perfect for merchants who need custom pricing for international customers or want to collect quote requests before finalizing orders.

What Does Frontier Quote Do?

When a shopper from a configured region visits your store, they'll see a "Get a Quote" button instead of the standard checkout button. Clicking this button opens a popup form where they can:

  • Enter contact information (name, email, phone)
  • Provide shipping address
  • Add optional notes or company information

When submitted, Frontier Quote automatically creates a Draft Order in your Shopify admin with all the cart contents and customer information.

Key Concepts

Region Configuration

You can configure which countries see quote buttons using:

  • Whitelist: Countries in the whitelist always show checkout buttons (even without shipping profiles)
  • Blacklist: Countries in the blacklist always show quote buttons (even with shipping profiles)

Theme App Extension

Frontier Quote uses Shopify's Theme App Extensions to inject the quote button functionality into your storefront. This means no theme code modifications are required.

Draft Orders

All quote requests are automatically converted into Shopify Draft Orders with configurable tags (default: gq-quote). This allows you to manage quotes directly in Shopify and use Shopify Flow for automated notifications.
